How launching works
Book or arrive early
Pre-book a launch slot, or be on our site by 12 noon.
Bring your papers
An RYA PWC qualification and third-party insurance — we'll need a copy of your policy.
We launch you
Our launch vehicle puts you in the water. Take your ski off your trailer, and off you go.
From Jan 1st 2025
Anyone wishing to launch must either pre-book a launch slot, or be on our site by 12 (noon).
From Jan 1st 2022
Anyone launching from Sussex Marine must be in possession of an RYA PWC recognised qualification.
Anyone launching from Sussex Marine or any other launch site within Shoreham Port Authority will be required to follow the rules set out by the Port Authority.
The master of a PWC (you, the jet skier) must be: (a) at least 16 years old; (b) in possession of an RYA PWC recognised qualification; and (c) hold third party liability insurance of at least £2 million.
If you haven't taken the PWC course we recommend you book one as soon as possible — we will not be able to launch you without it. You can book your course locally using the button below, or contact the RYA directly. Spaces sell out quickly.
Insurance & launching
All craft need insurance. Before launching you'll be asked to fill out our launching form, where you confirm that you have insurance. When you're ready, all skis are launched by our launch vehicle (you'll need to take your ski off/on your trailer). Sussex Marine Watersports accept no liability for damage to your ski and trailer when launching.
Note: 1) All craft require insurance for launching — no insurance, no launch. We require a copy of your insurance policy. 2) If your craft is stored with us (either for storage or booked in to our workshop) you will also require insurance. Sussex Marine is not responsible for any theft or loss of your craft.
